Both power on but have mechanical issues with the sliding front that switches the camera on. The ball bearings that make the front slide are missing, as are the springs that make the mechanism that switches it on and off move. You can manually push the switch but you have to take the sliding front off to do so. The gold camera also has an issue with the flash - it doesn’t stay up properly which means the camera won’t stay on. Ideal for parts or repairs. No returns on these cameras
